Moldmaking FAQ's

Q. How long does it take for you to build my injection mold?
A. Lead times vary. You may not need a mold built in a week, but conversly; 12 weeks might spell destruction for your project. That's why we want to understand exactly what your requirements are. Of course, the complexity of the mold is the main determining lead time factor.

Q. My part has an estimated annual usage of 500 pieces. How can I possibly justify the expense of building a mold?
A. All molds are not created equal. The way you would build a mold to produce 500 pcs. annually, would differ completely from the way you would build the same mold to produce 500,000 annually. Let us look at your project to help determine what kind of mold is right for you.

Q. Who owns my mold?
A. Your mold is your distinct asset. You may move your mold at any time to the molding vendor of your choice.
